Hi Jardy, I got 2 questions about practicing for freestyling hip hop and house dance. So after I am able to put different moves together logically according to the music, should I "play" with the music by doing "random" moves for what I'm feeling at that moment? For hip hop, we are first required to learn the foundational or "old school" moves, but in the end aren't we going to dance like Kundu? Should I learn popping or locking after that? Thank you very much! Mark from Holland

Doing foundation (style specific moves) is meant to train your body for certain styles and certain feelings, but you are by no means restricted to doing just that. There are some people, like Kundu, who do just fine doing styles based off of foundation, and there are others who do great with little foundation and their own creativity. It’s all about following your own path. What feels right to you? How do you want your dance to look? The possibilities are only limited by your imagination. As for popping and locking, learn any style that you feel like learning. Don’t force yourself to do styles that don’t feel good to you. It’s all about experimenting; kinda like how college girls turn lesbian until they figure out what they want.
